"Knocker" Shields

I joined the club in 1980 and after years of hard work for the club was made an honorary member of the Vulcan-crc.

Known more so as "Mr Eastway Thursday League" for years and years of good quality efficient race and series organising, photo finish operator. And could have still been if not for one over zealous nerd - but that is another story.

Has participated in all the the main categories of the sport since 1958 riding Track, Cyclo Cross, Time Trials, Hill Climbs, and Road Racing with wins and places in all of the disciplines.

Had to retire from racing in 1992 due to a serious heart condition. followed by two bouts of cancer which is now in remission.

Would have been Rik Van Looy if born 10 years earlier............... as both born on same day
